One of the stalwarts of the club, Graham Turvey, achieved three educational awards in a single Toastmaster Year (July to June), earning himself a Triple Crown badge.
The organisation also inducted some newcomers Don Perera, Sherkawal Singh and Amy Mills into the fold.
“Toastmasters is now moving into a new chapter of learning called Pathways,” vice-president public relations Jenny Webster said.
“It means we will phase out the current booklet-based system, in order for Pathways to be implemented by the end of 2019.
“Anyone wanting to hear about Pathways is welcome to attend an information session on Monday, May 29.
“This will coincide with our dinner meeting at the Muswellbrook and District Workers Club.”
Mrs Webster said the purpose of Muswellbrook Toastmasters was to provide a supportive and positive learning experience in which members were empowered to develop communication and leaderships abilities.
“We’re always offering people the chance to learn better speaking skills leading to personal growth,” she said.
“We also give them an opportunity to visit before joining the club – almost a ‘try before you buy’ scenario.
“Toastmasters is a place where it is okay to be a person who cannot speak in front of others, as we teach people how to overcome that fear.
“This has certainly been true for many members passing through.
“For some people, it is purely for work reasons they attend and, for others, it is more personal.
“However, either way you see it, those people grow in many ways, from that first visit.”
Toastmasters meets on the first, third and fifth Monday of the month at the Ron Adams Room at the Muswellbrook and District Workers Club at 6.45pm for a 7pm start.
